How kitchens use it

Kitchens run HazelHex as the powerbase: the long, stable heat at the foundation of the fire. Lumpwood is lit together with it for extra heat and flavour, which means fewer refuels and the same fire from the first ticket to the last. Read the operational case for hexagonal briquettes, or test it first with single 10kg bags.

HazelHex or Hex?

HazelHex burns longer (6–8 hours, up to 1100°C) and is made from hazelnut shells. Hex is our Sumi Binchotan-style briquette from recycled hardwood sawdust (5–6 hours, up to 1000°C) at a lower price. Different products for different jobs.

Delivery and storage

Pallets are delivered by pallet network to your door. Standard trade delivery is 2–3 working days, so reorder when you are down to about a week's stock. Store bags off the floor and under cover: charcoal picks up moisture from damp floors, and damp charcoal lights slower and burns cooler.
