Description

Hornbeam is the hardwood we bring in when a fire has to work all winter. It is dense, so each log burns hot and long, with very little ash and a clean flame once it is going. These logs are kiln dried to below 20% moisture and cut to about 25cm, ready for a wood stove, a closed fireplace, or an open fire.

This crate is 1.5 cubic metres of hand-stacked logs, about 1 cubic metre of solid wood once the gaps between the logs are taken out. The crate itself is about 100 cm long, 115 cm wide and 120 cm high. It weighs 540–560 kg: a winter load, not a basket of kindling, and it arrives free on a pallet across mainland UK.

This is a pre-order. Delivery is in November, around 10 November. The crates are not in Lancaster yet, so an order placed now is not collected or dispatched before that date.
