FAQ's
We want to make it easy for you to know exactly what you’re getting with Globaltic. Below are answers to the questions we get asked most often by both home grillers and professionals.
🔥 Product & Quality
Why do chefs choose Globaltic charcoal?
Chefs tell us the biggest thing they need from fuel is consistency. When you’re cooking for 200 covers or running a busy BBQ service, you can’t afford unpredictable burns or fuel that runs out halfway through a shift. Every bag of Globaltic charcoal is carefully graded and quality checked so you know it will perform the same way every single time. That means high heat, steady burn, and clean flavour that brings out the best in your food. Michelin-starred chefs and BBQ pros choose us because our fuel lets them focus on the cooking, not worrying about the fire.
What makes your charcoal different from supermarket brands?
Supermarket charcoal is often made to be cheap, not good. That means mixed woods, inconsistent chunk sizes, lots of sparks, and sometimes even chemical additives to make it light faster. Globaltic is different — we only use premium hardwoods, produce in controlled retort kilns, and check every batch before it leaves the yard. The result is longer burn times, stronger heat, and flavour that enhances food instead of leaving it smoky or bitter. It may cost a little more than supermarket charcoal, but it saves you money in the long run because you use less, and it saves you headaches in the kitchen.
Does it produce smoke or strong smells?
Our charcoal burns with minimal smoke and no chemical odours. What you get is just the natural aroma of the wood, which adds subtle flavour to your food rather than overwhelming it. Because we don’t use accelerants or additives, you’ll never get that sharp, unpleasant smell you sometimes notice with cheaper brands. This makes it especially valuable for restaurants, where an open kitchen or indoor grill needs to stay pleasant for staff and diners alike.
Are all your products natural?
Yes — absolutely. Every single product we make, from our charcoal and briquettes to our logs and firelighters, is free from chemicals, glues, or artificial additives. Our briquettes are pressed using only natural starch binders, our charcoal is made from carefully selected hardwoods in controlled kilns, and our beech logs are kiln-dried for low moisture and clean burning. Even our packaging is biodegradable or recyclable. That means you can cook with complete peace of mind — knowing the heat, the flavour, and the experience all come from nature, nothing else.
Why should I buy charcoal from Globatic rather than other brands?
Not only does Globaltic care about the charcoal we produce we also care about the people who use it. From restaurants & professional users to families & die hard BBQ enthusiasts we have made a product to suit your needs, not just to throw out an inconsistent, poorer quality charcoal and happily take your money. We ensure that every briquette & every piece of lumpwood is worth every penny you spend. Ontop of that we still manage to offer an economic product that retains it’s heat and lasts longer than the competition – we know you want the best, so we offer it at a reasonable price.
🌍 Sustainability
Is your charcoal sustainable?
We believe fuel should be as kind to the planet as it is effective in your grill. All of our charcoal and firewood comes from responsibly managed forests, where new trees are planted and biodiversity is protected. Our packaging is either biodegradable or recyclable, meaning nothing ends up as waste unnecessarily. On top of that, we’ve invested in efficient production methods like retort kilns that reduce emissions compared to traditional methods. In short: every time you use Globaltic, you can be confident you’re making a responsible choice for both your cooking and the environment. Read more
🚚 Shipping & Delivery
How fast is delivery?
We know that running out of fuel can stop your plans or even your business in its tracks. That’s why we aim to get every order dispatched within 24 hours of receiving it. For smaller parcel deliveries, you can usually expect your charcoal within 2–3 working days. For pallets, we deliver within 3 working days. In urgent cases, we’ll always do our best to help with express arrangements. Restaurants in particular value this speed, because it means no last-minute scrambles to keep service going.
Do you deliver to all of the UK?
Yes — we deliver to most of mainland UK, including England, Scotland, and Wales. At the moment, we don’t deliver individual orders to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man, but we can arrange larger wholesale shipments on request. We’re also expanding internationally, and we already work with partners in several European countries. If you’re unsure whether we can deliver to you, just get in touch and we’ll find a way.
What if I’m not happy with my order?
We stand behind every bag we sell. If something isn’t right — whether it’s a rare quality issue or your delivery arrives damaged — we’ll put it right straight away. Most of the time, we’ll replace the item free of charge. If you’d prefer, we’ll refund you in full. All we ask is for a quick photo so we can understand what happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Our promise is simple: no customer should ever be left disappointed with Globaltic.
How do I get in touch?
We’ve kept it simple: you can email us at quality@globaltic.co.uk or visit our Contact page if you prefer to call or chat in Whatsapp/Messenger. We know problems usually need solving fast, so we pride ourselves on being responsive. Whether it’s a question about a single bag order for your BBQ at home, or a restaurant looking for urgent pallet delivery, we’ll get back to you quickly and help you sort it out.
